36th MAYOR’S CUP - HAWAII STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION - Sep 10 & 11, 2022

Message from the Hawaii State Golf Association (HSGA)
“Mahalo for playing in the 36th Mayor’s Cup. It was great to hold this tournament again after a long two-year break.”
In addition to the many Hawaii State Women’s Golf Association (HSWGA) participants, HSWGA provided critical support in the roles of “Rules Officials”. Gwen Omori, Barbara Schroeder and Judy Tonda (no picture); gave up their precious weekend to assist both players and HSGA staff.
Our ladies had a lot of fun playing in this annual tournament. In the Women’s Division, Vivian Ahn, who played in the Women’s Flight, shared that she was called “Aunty” all weekend by her young competitors. Don’t worry Vivian, you look like a teenage yourself. Another HSWGA member shared that after adding the ages of her young foursome, she was still older than their total ages. The future of Women in Hawaii’s Golf is bright as shown by the professional attitudes, skills and fun-loving personalities of this younger generation.
In the Senior Division, our participants reported that fun and lots of golf were the order of the weekend. Our skills and pace of play was impressive. Be sure to join us next year in supporting the Hawaii State Golf Association in this traditional “Mayor’s Cup”.
